In October, @casalis_mareeba and its wonderful community celebrated their 10th Down Syndrome Awareness Drive. Founded by Alex Arena in honour of his grandson Milan, the event once again inspired inclusion, generosity, and connection across Far North Queensland. Thank you, Casalis and the Mareeba community, for your continued support and commitment, it truly makes a difference.

A Bone-a-fide Update: DSIDQs weekly update with CEO Sarah Bone.

As we close out the final working week of the year at DSIDQ, it’s a good moment to pause and reflect on what has been a busy and successful year. This could not have been achieved without the continued support from our community. THANK YOU!

This week, we’ve focused on wrapping up our 2025 actions and planning for 2026. Yesterday, some team members attended Easy Ready training, offered in response to feedback from our recent community engagement trip, to help simplify processes and strengthen consistency in our communications.

I sincerely thank everyone who has supported DSIDQ throughout 2025. It has been a very rewarding six months for me since commencing in July. I’m looking forward to a break with family and friends and to returning refreshed and ready for what promises to be a fantastic 2026 for DSIDQ.

Don’t forget to stay informed and connected, sign up for our monthly digital newsletter to discover the latest news, upcoming events, and opportunities. Connected through our newsletter here -https://form.jotform.com/253487467706874

I hope everyone can find some time for themselves over the festive season, and I acknowledge it isn’t an easy time for everyone.

See you in 2026!
