As the 2021 school year draws to a close, we are delighted to see the success of Harriett Simmich, who graduated year 12 at Dalby Christian College (DCC). Harriett’s school journey was “capped off” in style last week when she and her partner Jimmy delighted the College community as they arrived together for the Formal in none other than an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from the farm.

Donned ‘King and Queen’ of the Prom by many in our community, we have seen both Harriett and Jimmy grow in confidence and shine on campus at DCC. We will miss them both and their cheeky grins greatly but know there are wonderful things in store for both.” Shelley Wieden, DCC Administration Officer says with a smile.

Harriet’s mother Sam also reflects on Harriet’s journey through school and with overwhelming pride “Our beautiful daughter Harriett has just graduated year 12. We couldn’t be prouder of her and are screaming it from every rooftop.” Down Syndrome Queensland offer a range of educational services and resources to ensure your journey through school culminates with the same joy and pride experienced by Harriett and her family on Formal night.
