Privacy

Down Syndrome Queensland will use the information we collect to provide you with information, services and resources we feel may be of interest to you.  By registering for this event, you are consenting to us collecting this information. Down Syndrome Queensland’s privacy policy is available here.

If you have any questions, or do not want your details to be used in this way, please contact us at office@downsyndromeqld.org.au, or PO Box 3223, Stafford DC, QLD 4053.

Photography and Recording

For promotional purposes, photos, audio and video recordings may be taken during the event. Attendees who do not wish to be filmed or recorded should advise the organisers in writing prior to the event.

Disclaimer

At the time of registration, DSQ provided the most recent information available and the attendee accepts that the content and/or the delivery of the event can change beyond the control of DSQ. DSQ will not take any responsibility for any errors, omissions and changes to the program or content of the event. DSQ reserves the right to make changes as it deems necessary without penalty and in such situations no refunds, part refunds or alternative offers shall be made.

  1. DSQ reserves the right to update the Disclaimer and Terms and Conditions without notice to you.
  2. DSQ cannot control all content published or disseminated at the event.  You alone are solely responsible for your interaction with other attendees and agree to act responsibly and exercise caution, common sense and safety while in attendance at the event.
  3. DSQ, its directors, employees, volunteers, agents and affiliates shall not be liable for any losses, damages, liabilities, claims or expenses whatsoever arising out of or referable to the event.

Registration

If a person is registering on behalf of another, it is the responsibility of that person to notify the attendee of the terms and conditions of registering, for which they will be agreeing to on the behalf of the attendee. Responsibility also includes providing full details of the attendees’ registration details as confirmed.

Cancellations

All cancellations must be notified to DSQ in writing before the cancellation can be processed.  Requests for refunds will be considered on a case by case basis. Should DSQ cancel an event, all registration fees will be refunded in full. DSQ accepts no liability for additional costs incurred by attendees, for example travel costs, and recommends all attendees take out personal insurance.

Fees and payments

Payment to attend the event must be made prior to the event starting, unless otherwise agreed with DSQ.

Indemnity

Should, for any reason outside the control of DSQ, the venue change or the event be cancelled, DSQ will endeavour to reschedule. In this instance the attendee will indemnify and hold DSQ harmless from and against any and all costs, damages and expenses. DSQ does not accept responsibility for, and the attendee indemnifies DSQ against, any costs, charges or fines incurred by the attendee in the process of attending the event.  This agreement is subject to the laws of Queensland and agreement to these terms and conditions indicates acceptance of this indemnity.

Insurance

Registration fees (where applicable) do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all attendees take out personal travel and medical insurance prior to attending the event. The policy should include loss of fees through cancellation of your participation or through cancellation of the event itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. DSQ will not take any responsibility for any attendee failing to insure.
