StepUP! is a fundraising and awareness campaign held during Down Syndrome Awareness Month every October. It celebrates the significant contributions people with Down syndrome make to our communities.
This year DSV are delighted to be holding our annual Melbourne StepUP! event at Princes Park in Melbourne on Sunday 19 October.
Why StepUP!?
- Raise awareness. By participating in StepUP! you’re helping to spread awareness about Down syndrome and promoting a society where everyone is valued and included. Your presence makes a difference in changing perceptions and breaking down stereotypes.
- Support a worthy cause. All funds raised from StepUP! go directly to Down Syndrome Victoria. This enables us to continue providing essential programs, services, and advocacy efforts that support individuals with Down syndrome and families. Your registration helps us offer critical support and resources to those who need it most.
- Celebrate diversity and inclusion. StepUP! is a celebration of the diversity within our community. It’s a day filled with music, entertainment, and activities for all ages, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and included.
- Connect with community. Join a vibrant and supportive community of families, friends, advocates, and allies. StepUP! is an opportunity to meet others who share a common thread and want to make a positive impact, forge lasting friendships, and create a more inclusive world together.
