What are the benefits for people with Down syndrome?
The research underpinning FitSkills demonstrated the many health benefits for participants with Down syndrome, including increased physical fitness, wellbeing and psychological health, as well as reduced social isolation, increased community inclusion and community awareness.
We know that sometimes it can be hard to find the time or motivation to get out and exercise. During the course of this program there may also be the opportunity to meet other participants and connect with those on a similar journey. The FitSkills co-ordinator will have a chat to you about this once you register.
