Education Services

We believe all students should be fully included in their local age-equivalent classroom, accessing appropriate year-level curriculum with reasonable adjustments.

At DSQ, we provide support to teachers and schools to ensure students with intellectual disabilities, including Down syndrome, are maximising their educational outcomes in the most inclusive learning environment possible.

This support is provided by our DSQ team of Education Consultants, via both the Specialist Disability Support Service (SDSS) and Non-State Special Needs Organisations (NSSNO) programs through the Department of Education and Training.

We have a range of Education services available to schools and staff teaching students with intellectual disabilities, including:

  • Kindy – Free service available for Kindy centres
  • ID:8 (IDEATE) – Free consultation service for state, non-state and independent schools
  • QEST – Consulting, Professional Development, or tailored packages available

Find our more about our range of educational services below.

You can contact the Education Team on 07 3356 6655 or send an email to education@downsyndromeqld.org.au.
