Post-School Programs

As we get older, our lives change. We leave school and begin to do things as an adult, such as going to work, continuing education, and becoming independent.

DSQ is here to help you with this process. We are committed to assisting people with intellectual disabilities and their families to create a life that meets their aspirations and goals. We offer an excellent range of social programs to develop skills, build capacity and empower people living with intellectual disabilities, now and in the future.

Whether it’s helping with your cooking, making friends, learning to budget, how to apply for jobs, or simply building your confidence, we have the program for you!

Use our decision tree to see which program is right for you.

Post-School Programs we offer:

  • Career goals
  • Further training and education

Continued Education Program (CEP)

CEP is an ongoing holistic education program including components of real-world experiences. It’s a continuation of a students’ education after school and into adulthood, building on the students’ learning strengths and focusing on improving:

  • Public speaking & presentation skills
  • General knowledge & current affairs
  • Literacy & numeracy
  • Health & the arts

Skills for Independence

If you, or someone you know, is looking to increase independence with real-world skills, then Skills for Independence is the program for you!

Students will develop knowledge, skills and confidence through an intensive, one day per week curriculum aimed at providing real life, hands on, and regular opportunities to practice and learn a relevant skill of independence.

In Term 2, we’re going to be focused on travel training and building confidence and independence using public transport!
